Answers to the questions I get asked most often:
| Q. Can you send me an autographed photo?
A. You can purchase an autographed photo and make a
donation to a worthy cause at the same time. Total cost is $5.19
including tax and shipping, of which $2.50 will be donated to breast
cancer research. Use the PayPal button to the right. |

- When is your next album coming out?
Due to a number of factors, the recording process
for the second album is taking longer than I would have ever imagined. A
little over a year after the release of "Looking For the Lightning" I
was diagnosed with early stage breast cancer. I
basically lost a whole year to various surgeries and treatments. Working
full time, raising children, and getting involved in writing/producing
outside projects makes it challenging to devote the time to my own
project. On top of all of that, in part because of the experiences I've
had recently, I decided mid-stream to change the direction of the next
album so I had to go back to square one. I'm still plugging away.
I was raised Catholic but to be honest I do have issues
with the Catholic Church, the hierarchy in particular. I know many dedicated
priests but I also know others who have focused more on self-service, self-preservation and stonewalling than on
compassion and true ministry. No earthly religious institution, in my
opinion, has the true picture of who God is and what He's all about. Our
finite minds can't perfectly comprehend the infinite. It makes me think of
the story of the blind men trying to describe an elephant. All they know is
the particular body part they are touching. One thinks the elephant must be
like a tree because all he can feel is the leg. Another thinks the elephant
must be like a rope because all he can feel is the tail, etc. I know that
when we come face to face with God, He will be bigger and more of everything
than we could have ever imagined. At that point all that will matter is His
overwhelming love for us.
- How long have you been singing and writing songs?/Do you only do Christian
music?
I've been singing ever since I can remember. By the time I was four I knew I
wanted to be a singer. I sang in grade school, high school and college
choirs. I took 6 years of piano lessons (not that it shows) and am self
taught on the guitar (definitely shows). I started writing songs when I was
10. I don't really know why except that it seemed to be something I should
do. I write and sing various styles of music. Spirituality is
important to me and so some, but not all, of my material reflects that.
- Are you married?/Do you have children?
I am no longer married. I married young and not for the right reasons
(kind of put the cart before the horse, if you know what I mean.)
My ex and I get along fine, however, and we are blessed to have the four most
beautiful, intelligent and talented children on the planet.
